A Client's Story
A gentleman came into the store recently. He is not openly romantic in the obvious sense of the word, and he had a big anniversary looming. I know him well and pre-empting that he might need jewellery to mark the occasion, I asked if he might want anything made.
Initially he dismissed the idea, but around three months later, he reappeared shortly before the big date and asked us if we would replicate a gold-plated bangle he gave his wife for her 21st birthday. He didn’t have very much money when he bought the original piece, but years later he could afford to indulge.
We recreated his original gift by making an amazing bangle in 18ct gold and diamonds for a special wedding anniversary.
The original piece was long gone, but the memory was still there. He wasn’t comfortable with traditional statements of romance but his gesture symbolised true love and sentiment.
